Questions About Staying at The Cozy Sands

How many people can stay at The Cozy Sands at one time?
Four bedrooms upstairs sleep 8 people in beds (there is also a queen sleeper sofa downstairs fyi).

What time is check-out and check-in?
Check-out time is 10 AM; Check-in time is 2:00 PM.

May I bring any pets?
Pets must be provided for elsewhere. The Hidden Harbour Homeowner’s Association does NOT allow pets with the exception of owner’s pets.

Do you allow smoking?
Smoking is NOT permitted in our home.

Do you have wi-fi?
Yes, in-season wi-fi is available at the house. Also, wi-fi is available at The Library, Town Hall, Grotto Pizza, Giant, McDonalds, etc…

What about parking?
Each home comes with two numbered parking spaces in front of the house. Additional parking can be found under VISITOR spaces (there is a visitor one right next to our 2 spaces, for instance, and more on the same street).

Can I ride my bike or scooter on Hidden Harbour sidewalks?
This is currently against policy because some walkers have been put in potential danger. However, there is a fairly quiet parking lot and neighborhood streets next to us.

Biking is great fun at the beach, and if you want to make a day of it, then drive about 1/2 hr. north on rt. 1 to the state park, Cape Henlopen (302-645-8983, address, 42 Cape Henlopen Drive, Lewes, DE 19958), where they have a free bike barn available to everyone included with the park entrance fee ($6 or $8/day per out-of-state auto). It’s nice!

When is the swimming pool open?
The swimming pool is usually open during the summer season 10 AM – 6:00 PM with the rare exception of when college student/lifeguards are unavailable.

The swimming pool requires a swimming pass that is provided with your rental. The cost to replace a lost pass is $25.

Can I walk to the beach?
Yes, it’s only about 3 blocks down the street.

Can I walk downtown?
Yes, you can walk one or two blocks toward the ocean and then turn right and go down about 4 blocks to arrive near the center of town.

What To Bring

What should I bring for the kitchen and bathrooms?
Besides your personal belongings, pack consumables such as soap, paper towels, tissues, toilet paper, laundry detergent, bathroom cleansers, trash bags, etc…

What about bedding?
Pillows and blankets are provided for your use.
***Linens (or sleeping bags) need to be brought from home. Linen service available for additional fee.

Are there dishtowels and potholders?
Yes, there are some dishtowels and potholders. Please leave what you use freshly laundered.

Is there a grill?
Yes, there is a small Weber charcoal grill. Make sure if you use it, you use it down in the lawn/sidewalk area and not on the deck.

What other supplies or equipment are in the home that we might want to know about beforehand?
There is a vacuum in the downstairs hallway closet, and a large, rectangular fan located in the upstairs laundry room (the circuit breaker box is also found in this room as well as a 2nd circuit breaker box outside by the a/c unit). There are books, toys, games, and puzzles to be shared and used by all.
